The end of the Victorian era saw the emergence of these grand freestanding homes. These homes are both picturesque and complex in design. Characteristics include; Steeply pitched roofs, street facing gables, terracotta ridge cappings, dragon and gargoyle statues, turned verandah posts, and chimney cornices. The use of rectangular lead lighting throughout the home also make these homes stunning inside and out.
